That Kind Of Luxe Ain't For Us.

I unexpectedly ended up at an antique shop with Mitzi a couple of weekends ago. Although most pieces were far beyond my means, it was quite a treat to spend a Saturday morning looking at baubles and chandeliers. Surprisingly, we found a most perfect backdrop for taking photos outside, since Antiques Market is located in the industrial part of East Vancouver. Even though we left empty handed, the outing was 100% worthwhile!

I recently celebrated my 24th birthday. Much like years before, the passing of another year of my life has left me feeling awfully introspective lately. Many moments spend in contemplation and consideration of my present and future plans. Surprisingly, rather than panicked I'm feeling refreshed and more focused, almost like someone hit the play button... Here's to a fresh start, and new beginnings.

Orla Kiely Spring/Summer 2014.

My sartorial tastes seem to flip between two reference points: the nipped waists and demure seduction of 1950s debutantes and pinups and the carefree, youthful exuberance of 1960s schoolgirls and mod ladies. The latest collection from Orla Kiely (a perennial favorite label) leans towards that girlish mod thing: abbreviated hems teamed with knee socks and sweetly hued accessories.

A Simple Kind Of Life.

I'm catching up on the fun I documented this summer, so it'll be a week of warmth and sunshine. Sometimes the best time is a beautiful neighborhood, and the luxury of an early evening stroll. Every year, summer and autumn remind me to fall in love with Vancouver once again.

Give Me Some Rays.

I've been stockpiling warm clothing in anticipation for the chilly months lately, spying sweaters and knits. I've also been assessing my fall wardrobe but it may be quite some time until I require it... It's still balmy here in Vancouver, much to my pleasure! I suppose I'll have to keep my summer wardrobe in rotation until it's time to snuggle up to knits for 5+ months. Viva la summertime.
