I must say, I had a pretty awesome weekend (and I didn't have to work)! I got to see Santigold at the Commodore Ballroom on Saturday night with Kate and Gail (who I've known since I was about 3...I don't remember
not knowing her and her family). This occasion called for something a little more "out there" than my usual day wear. I decided to do some fauxombre pink and purple in my hair...and I loved the results! I wish I had a job which allowed me to have colored hair all the time (although this was a nice alternative, washes right out!).
The show was pretty dang sweet...Santigold didn't disappoint, and she had the dopest flygirl dancers. There were multiple wardrobe changes (!!!!); now I need to learn every step of choreography from the show. Also, Gail got to dance onstage!
One thing that struck me about the show was how exuberant and confident Santigold was. Confidence is something I've found admirable in others, especially other women. I've been in a kind of introspective place lately... pondering who I want to "be", ideals and otherwise. Perhaps a post on the subject is a'brewin'!
