I'm not big on contests that involve being judged on your looks, but this one actually caught my attention. I think it's interesting that American Apparel is finally featuring items in XL. I don't know about you, but I've always found that their clothing runs quite small. I'm hopeful for some easier shopping...
If you would like to vote for me (the contest ends on my birthday, and what a wonderful present that would be!) you can do so here!

Cuppa Joy.
One of my other hobbies that I haven't really mentioned that much on here is playing music with my best friend, Kate. We try to hold little coffee shop performances every 3 months, and as much as practicing is time consuming, it's always super rewarding. Music was (and still is) my first love, and I really enjoy playing with Kate. We've been singing together for so long that we can kind of predict which harmony line the other will sing... If you want to here some music from Kate, you can find a bunch of videos on her Youtube. This one is a rough recording of a cover we did together. We want to do videos and real recordings, and I'll be sure to post here when we do!
These shots are from our performance at the beginning of July at Cuppa Joy. It's one of the best venues we've played in, intimate and perfect acoustics! In case you are wondering, Kate plays guitar and sings, and I play tambourine, egg shaker and sing.

Lola Paige.
A couple of months ago, I stumbled upon an adorable line out of California called Lola Paige. They make beach inspired dresses and separates, but with a vintage inspired twist. I was pretty excited to wear this dress. I mean, how flippin' cute and easy is this piece? Equally exciting: I GOT KORK EASE. I've been lusting after these ever since CaliVintage got her first pair...but they were always a little out of my reach financially. Aritzia's end of summer sale meant that a little pavement-pounding and $50 later, Avas were finally mine! It's like walking on air, and I am so much taller.
In other news, I entered the American Apparel XL Model Search. I usually avoid contests like this, but I figured, why not? I'd really appreciate your votes if you feel so inclined. Here is my entry!

Let's Meet Up!
After talking back and forth for a while, on Wednesday I met up with Zoë from Lion Heart Vintage. I've been admiring this lady's sweet style from across the internet for a while, and I was ecstatic when I found out she's from Vancouver! We went to Nelson The Seagull (delicious, delicious cafe in Gastown, go if you are near it!) where we talked about the strange beast that is blogging. It's always great to see other bloggers in person because sometimes it's difficult to find other people in real life who "understand" the blogging world. Zoë is one of those lovely people who I connected with immediately. I love when that happens, especially with someone as gorgeous and interesting as her! I am excited for the next time we get to hang out.

Back To The Books.
It's been a long time since I've posted an editorial on here. This is one of my recent favourites, I found it thanks to tumblr! I throughly enjoy the playfulness of the whole shoot, and the prim collars, high socks and school girl dresses seem perfect for this time of year (or anytime, really).
A quick thanks to Iris+Daniel who featured me in an EIU post over at Chictopia! If you want to know "how" I shop, check it out...

The Sigh That Blew Me Forward.
Today begins my last semester of school!!! I am excited, but the end of school will mean the beginning of "real life"...
These shots are from a yummy breakfast at Red Wagon. I've featured them before, seriously one of my favorite haunts in my neighborhood! Sad news from this post: the sunnies has since lost an arm, somewhere downtown. They are forevermore out of commission. Also, True Value Vintage has shut down! I really loved shopping there, it was the first "vintage" store I ever visited. Discovering that other people loved and collected old clothing and accessories when I was but a young teen definitely was a catalyst for my personal style now. It's a shame that it got taken out by developments for condos...

Lamenting.
I am so, so, SO very behind in posts! I try to always post things in chronological order, but since some of the pictures I have are 2-3 months old (eeep!), I'm probably just going to post in whatever order I feel like. This is from Mitzi's visit back in May! I am embarrassed to admit it's taken me this long to post them. I had some fairly life changing events happen in June, so my time out from the blog back then means extra outfit posts NOW! That's good, right?
Moving on...I wish that Mitzi lived closer. She is one of my favorite brainy beauties, and I loathe the fact that she's all the way in Victoria. It's always so wonderful when I see/talk/visit with her! Perhaps one day we'll live in the same city? This post is also featuring an Adam cameo...

Staycation.
I'm technically on a mini-vacation with Kate, starting today. It'll only be until Friday afternoon, but after the stressfulness of this past semester, I really need a break!
I think I'm going to alter this dress (don't like how loose the chest is), but haven't quite gotten around to it yet. This outfit was worn way back when, at the beginning of summer. Kate and I spent the afternoon walking around Commercial Drive, and discovered some vintage shops that are pretty close to home. As for the messy hair on my part, blame the Vancouver breeze, it's always constant!
Red Light Vintage dress ($3!!!).
Lisa Zain sandals.

Foxy Toting.
My go to tote this summer... I was overjoyed to find out I won it through Fancy Fine, and ever since I recieved the adorable package, I've been toting this lovely around with me. In other news, phở is on my top 5 list of foods I could never get sick of. Seriously, this soup is amazeballs. My favourite place to get it in Vancouver (Le Petit Saigon) is right next door to my work!

I Love Colors.
The lovely ladies over at We Love Colors sent me a package of amazing-ness, full of bright and patterned hoisery (my favorite!). This particular pair is just as vivid as it appears here, and kept me warm on a cool, early summer day. Thanks again We Love Colors! In other news, this post is the first time I'm posting this lovely blouse (perfect collar, if I do say so myself) and these shoes!!! I pined after them all fall at Urban Outfitters, but missed out when they finally went on sale. Luckily, our local Aldo Shoes outlet had them in the spring, and at a steal of a price too ($25)!
PS. It is exactly one month until my birthday...let the countdown begin!
