1941.

I don't know what I'm wearing tonight. We are going to a New Year's party with 50's/60's music, so it will have to be danceable! I wish I had this exact outfit from NYE 1941 that I found on flickr. I love every last detail, especially those little stars!

What are your plans for tonight?

The Show!

Despite finding out that taking pictures of fashion shows is actually fairly difficult (darn you, catwalking models!), I had a fun time documenting my first real show. Toria and I got ready at her lovely apartment, then headed out to the Westin Bayshore. Drinking gin and tonics (Toria is just holding mine, don't worry she isn't double fisting!), we got snapped by random photographers and chatted away with other guests. We were excited and nervous to dash in for seating., and somehow we managed to snag decent seats! There was an array of designs in the show, from sportswear to formal gowns. I personally liked the fluffy feathery number that you can kind of see in the blurry photo, there were so many feathers! The night was a lot of fun, and it was really nice to hang out with school friends outside of a school environment. I also got to see Julian again! He's friends with the lovely Marisa (wearing the vintage peach blouse), and is a very stylish lad. Check out his blog! We walked away at the end of the night with a lot of fun had, and some lovely swag. A solid one in my books!

One In Every Color.

After falling deeply, madly in love with this H&M dress in blush pink, I was delighted to find an emerald green version on sale for 10 bucks! Its first outing was the Blanche Macdonald Graduate Fashion Show at the Westin Bayshore, and now I can't decide which color of this dress I'm more in love with.

H&M dress. Front & Co. feather hairpiece.
Thrifted lace jacket. Dollar Store sheer tights.

Soft To The Touch.

I'll only be home for a couple of holiday parties this year, but I can't wait to get dressed up just for the heck of it! I recently thrifted a mohair sweater, and all the furry pieces I've been seeing lately makes me pine for something soft and fuzzy in my holiday wear...
What are you guys feeling for the holidays?

Worn!

I was over the moon when a very lovely Canadian magazine, Worn Journal, emailed me to do a little feature. Always full of inspiring content and lovely, stylish real girls, Worn is always a treat.

Check out my crush here!

And Then The Snow Came.

Another cold snap outfit. It was so bitterly cold that day.  The only saving grace was getting to wear my lovely thrifted sweater. It is delightfully cozy!

Thrifted blouse, cape, sweater, belt, skirt. Joe Fresh creme tights.
Gift from Adam vintage boots. H&M earmuffs.

If You Love Me, Won't You Let Me Know?

I apologize yet again for my prolonged absence. I've been caught up in a whirlwind of holiday-related activites. 3 weeks ago there was a mean cold spell here in Vancouver. Which meant earmuffs! I've been pining after muffs for a couple of winters now, and this year they are finally popping up in most retail stores. The trickle-down effect does have it's perks. Like earmuffs for $7 at H&M! Now I will have snuggly ears all winter long!

H&M earmuffs. Joe Fresh bow sweater, double leather belt.
Thrifted blouse (under) and skirt. Urban Planet knit tights.
Aldo heels.

A Temporary Haitus.

Drowning in school, work and life, I haven't posted since last friday.
Hopefully I will be able to post by the end of this week!
Until then, feast your eyes on party cat. Seriously, so flippin' funny.
In other news: Theodora Richards is looking precisely how I'm feeling these days. Sometimes dressing like a schoolgirl highlights the brilliant simplicity of a uniform.

I Wish I Could Believe What They Tell Me.

Current Loves
  • Thrifted Peter Pan Blouse: It was like the pot of gold I never thought I would find!
  • Pumpkin Blazer: Another thrifted gem. Only $6! We have a new fave thrift store here in Vancouver, I don't want anyone to find it. Old Italian ladies donate all of their treasures there.
  • Flowers in my Hair: I need to make more floral hair things. It makes any day better.
    • American Apparel Nail Polish: I feel all fancy with my nails did.
  • Oatmeal: probably one of my favorite breakfasts, delicious and nutritious (har, har).

Thrifted blazer, blouse, belt, skirt. DIY floral hair wreath.
American Eagle leggings. Gift from Adam boots.

You Leave This World To Me.

I stumbled upon this outfit in my archives. It was originally for a publication, but since it didn't get published, I can post it now!
I wouldn't usually match my tie to my skirt, but I liked how this outfit played into the whole Red Riding Hood (with the red+cape...) and also not so subliminally mimicked this outfit that Alexa Chung wore (and which made me truly fall in love with her style).

Thrifted cape, skirt. Gift from Adam boots.
H&M sheer oxford. DIY velvet bowtie.
Hot Topic lace tights.
